About
Stamie Lyttle and Fred Barnes founded Lyttle & Barnes Sanitation in 1947. Lyttle and Barnes specialized in septic tank installation and maintenance. In 1967 a corporation was formed and Lyttle & Barnes Sanitation became Stamie E. Lyttle Company.
Lyttle Utilities, Inc. started in 1982 as a full service utility contractor in the Mid-Atlantic region. Lyttle Utilities specializes in the installation and rehabilitation of water and wastewater systems.
Together Stamie E. Lyttle Company and Lyttle Utilities work together as The Lyttle Companies, a third generation company and one of the oldest of its kind in the Metro-Richmond area. Lyttle has developed partnerships with individuals, businesses, and municipalities in a cross-disciplined manner, which has not only grown the company, but its community partners at the same time.
Unique to Lyttle is the combined customer service focus with a heavy construction capability. No matter how large a project may be, Lyttle will serve the client with focus and intimacy. We have been accredited by the Better Business Bureau since 1996 and currently hold an A+ rating for unparalleled customer service within our industry.
Lyttle has continued to diversify its portfolio of capabilities. One of the first to use trenchless polymer technologies to remotely rehabilitate existing infrastructure, Lyttle has come to represent the highest quality trenchless products on the market today. With projects located along the entire Atlantic seaboard, the Lyttle trenchless division is its fastest growing division to date. Coming full circle, Lyttle can now maintain the quality product it originally installed to protect owner investment long into the foreseeable future.
The Lyttle Companies began as a local plumbing company which today includes all facets of the water and sewer infrastructure industry. From residential repairs to the largest of municipal wastewater projects, Lyttle maintains its local community-based values as it builds influence to cover the entire Atlantic seaboard.
