About
This Septic Service began in 1947 by John L. Danielson. In 1972 Johns daughter Mildred Danielson Marshall & James E. Marshall Jr. started Marshall's Septic Service. In 1986 Marshall's Septic Tank Cleaning Service was incorporated. Mildred & James Jr. operated the business alone for 20 years. Mildred was also at the same time a school bus driver for Spotsylvania County, James worked prior at the FMC Plant. In 1989 James E. Marshall III their only son was working on the weekends to help with the amount of business that was coming in. In 1992 James III joined the business full time. The business was growing, the population in the area was growing so this meant more septic systems to be maintained. In 1995 their son-in-law Vonda Berger started working for the corporation. In 2001 their son-in-law Richard Morris also started working for the corporation. James E. Marshall Jr. retired so he thought at the age of 70, Mildred Marshall ran the business up until the day she died in November 2004, so James E. Marshall Jr. took control over the business, he mostly worked in the office and occasionally went on the trucks to help locate a tank, from time to time the drivers would call him to find a tank that he had pumped in the past, he would always remember where they were even if it had been over 10 or 20 years when he was there. In late 2005 Debra Ritchie formally Debra Marshall daughter-in-law started working for the business in the office she had been going out on the trucks since 1989 helping with pumping tanks. James E Marshall IV Grandson had been out working with his dad since he was a very young child. In 2008 it was official he was a part of the corporation now you have 3 generations working for the business at one time. In December 2011 James E. Marshall Jr. passed away, God bless them both Mildred & James E. Marshall Jr. Today the business is still family owned and operated, with James E. Marshall III President.
